I saw a cute giftwrap idea. Instead of using paper giftwrap that gets tossed away, you can buy a nice cloth tablecloth and napkins/placemats.
This makes a second gift that isn't thrown away. It can be tied together with balloon string or ribbon. The placemats and/or napkins can be tied in the middle (butterfly like or fanlike) and placed on top of the gift like a rosette. Can use washcloths, towels, dish towels, etc too. by Sara
Keep Wrap From Unrolling
To keep wrapping paper from unrolling and getting crumpled, save empty toilet paper rolls. Cut it open with scissors and slide this around the tube of wrapping paper. The paper won't unroll anymore and you just slide the cardboard toilet paper cuff off when it's time to use some wrapping paper. You could also use an empty paper towel roll too! by mylittle4
You can also store in the leg of old pantyhose, one roll in each leg, then hang over a hanger in the closet for long term storage. by Jerseygirl
Use as giftwrap:
tissue paper
wallpaper
fabric bags
brown craft paper, stamped
end rolls from newspapers
comics with Christmas coloured bow
Christmas tea towel
cellophane

If you are giving someone tickets or a gift certificate, these can be placed between the pages of a book, preferably one that has something to do with the tickets or gc.
A gift card can be inserted into the wrapper of a candy bar or put it into a box of chocolates.
A mini stocking stuffed with a gift card is a creative way to give a gift card.
We don't buy for many people any more (about 5 in addition to my children), so I like to wrap all at once. One year I wrapped as I bought them (a great idea if you buy for many people), and because there weren't many, I didn't feel like it was Christmas. I actually enjoy wrapping.

So the following year I invited a couple of my friends over. They brought their gifts to wrap, their wrapping paper, and the rest of their wrapping supplies. We played Christmas carols, and drank hot chocolate while munching on Christmas cookies. That was a great Christmas.

Another tip: when wrapping my children's gifts, I use a special wrap for gifts from Santa. I never really thought about this, but my dh said that we had to go all out with the believing and having different wrapping paper than us. by Michelle
Frugal Tip: I love the really nice gift tags that you see in the store, but they are quite expensive, so I started making my own. I found a stamp and fancy cut scissors I liked at the craft store and purchased regular index cards. I usually use metallic inks. And of course, all these items were purchased on sale. By Janet N.
Wrap gifts like books with a scarf and attach mittens and can place a note inside the mittens.

I save all gift bags, from the Christmas Prior to other occasions, Solid colored gift bags, can easily be converted to Christmas by either attaching Christmas stickers, or going to the Internet, printing a few Christmas pictures and gluing them On the bags. Saves money on Gift Wrap! By Tamara L.
If you have a newspaper that's printed near your home, another idea for year-round wrapping paper is to buy roll ends of newsprint from the printer. When I was homeschooling my youngest, I would buy one or two of these roll ends per year at $1 each, and it kept us in paper all year for various art projects, wrapping, time lines, etc.

I put all the Christmas presents in pillow cases and the receivers liked the idea. I plan to do it again this year.
