- Went JoAnn's Crafts this weekend and found lots of holiday ribbon--also some plain green, beige chenille and a gold trimmed rose color that I can use all year, all 75% off. Also picked up a light up ceramic light house-my nana collects them, originally $39-marked down to $7.90-Her birthday is coming!! by Jerseygirl
- I have been to Target three times since Christmas. I went once when things were marked down to 50% and to two different Targets today, for the 75% off items. Got lots of candy at 50% and a few other things. Today, I bought lots of different things at 75%. Did my tree all in gold this year so, I bought big rolls of gold paper to wrap next years gifts to match my tree. Got some really nice men's after shave sets, table cloths, shreds, lights, napkins and Christmas socks, among other things, today. I got some toys for next year and for birthdays too. Toys were just 30% off though. I haven't been to any other discount stores but, did pick up a few discounted Christmas items at Albertson's, when I was food shopping. Also found a couple of good deals at Sam's Club when I made my monthly visit to shop there. I always buy up shirts for the granddaughters after each holiday, when they go really cheap. The girls get a kick out of camping in summer in their Halloween and Christmas shirts. by Kathi

I always watch Kohl's Cares for Kids sales.Kohl's always sells nice hardcover books and stuffed animals for 5$. All the proceeds go to charities for kids and it's a tax deduction for the buyer.
Yesterday I was able to buy 2 hardcover collector's edition Dr. Suess books for 5.00 a piece (normally 20$ in stores) and I bought 5 matching stuffed animals for 5 a piece.
I spent 35 dollars which can all be tax deducted and ended up with 7 nice Christmas presents. By Nichole M.

I love to "yard sale", but not to just buy anything that is "Cheap". I search for gifts - for instance my Mom collects special kinds of cut glass. I have found several pieces which I have saved for Holiday gifts. My daughter loves gardening. Many times, people have things brand new that they purchased on a whim thinking they would "get around to using" and then
never did. I have gotten many useful/decorative items for her garden which I have gifted at Christmas. Our son is a plumber. Believe it or not, people buy tools, etc. intending to become "home handypersons" and then decide not to, thus having brand new tools just collecting dust. I've gotten lots of great buys for him. by Dianne F.

There are several things we do to save money for
Christmas.
My daughter is a member of Kidzeyes surveys and she saves her money for the holidays for presents.
I enter contests and we put them in a big box to give as presents.
My girls make jars of homemade mixes: cookies, hot cocoa, brownies. They send them out to friends and family.
My youngest buys cups at the dollar store and puts a hot chocolate pack in each one, with a candy cane and some mini marshmallows. She attaches a note as well.
For her teacher, she bought an inexpensive clay pot, decorated it and put a plant in it. Her teacher loved it.
We buy a whole bunch of baking products in December when they are cheap (think sugars, choc. chips, candy, etc.) and make several items. Then we put a few on those nice dinner plates because a lot of my friends
use them all year round and LOVE them. They get goodies AND a new plate.
We go to Walgreen's Christmas night. Being open 24 hours we can get to THIER after Christmas sales before the mad rush of other stores and no getting up early. We get wonderful Christmas decorations and LAST YEAR,
my youngest bought MY presents then. I had arranged this with her so she could save money. They had an adorable set of holiday dishes with canisters, butter dishes, etc. She and my husband got me everythign for
REALLY cheap. :)
These are just a few things we do to save money and enjoy the holidays! By Kirstin
